One of the great things about hanging out with Fionn is that he insists on taking a break to enjoy the moment. We went for a walk this afternoon toward the beach. About halfway there he said “Stop a minute.” He put his hand to his ear and said “I can hear it!” After a few moments of silence he said “I hear ocean. I hear birds.” We stood and listened for a time and then, when he was ready to continue, he told me to “keep walking now.”
Life is hectic. But it’s so much better when we remember stop a minute to hear it, whatever “it” is. Thank you, Fionn, for the gentle and adorable reminder.
